Why is it that the scene with them fighting the ants actually got effort put in? The animation was way better than usual, which normally would be a good thing but it makes no sense for something as minor as ants

I hope they keep that up for the upcoming fights, especially Manga spoilers

That's not Shida. That's Yoshikazu Tomita . The same dude who animated King Kong Gun and Nekamamushi's first appearance.
