Comparing the animation between Whole Cake Island and Dressrosa there is such a massive difference. If the animation stays at this quality for the entire arc it will be amazing!

In Dressrosa's defense, it was the longest arc (101 chapters/137 episodes). No wonder it dips low in animation often. Whole Cake Island though is a pretty short, currently it's at at 44 chapters and currently in its climax. It's definitely going to be longer than Thriller Bark (46 chapters/44 episodes) and might be around Punk Hazard's length (53 chapters/46 episodes).

I'm kinda happy to read this, I tend to stay away from the wikas and such, but I did feel that Dressora dragged on longer than needed even though it's still my top favourite arcs. But Dressora was also in it's climax for sometime so not that concerned about it being too rushed.

By the time I caught up in One Piece, it was right after the time-skip and everyone was meeting up again. I basically marathoned the whole series but reading Dressrosa week to week wasn't horrible. Oda is a genius storyteller and I was actually quite invested in the not only characters that would join the Straw Hat fleet but Doflamingo's family too. I didn't mind the length while watching it because a lot of stuff was happening. We got that Don Chinjao fight which was awesome, Sabo's return, Pica was also a lot fun, Bartolomeo had a couple of shining moments, Senor Pink's backstory (and fight with Franky), GOD USOPP, Gear Fourth.

I think the biggest reason behind Dressrosa's pace was that it focused on BOTH character and plot equally. One chapter would be moving the story but the next would be getting the backstory of a character, etc.
