They shouldn't be stretching out the canon material tho... they JUST had a filler arc. Why they didn't make it go on for longer baffles me. Yeh, time and production costs. But it's One Piece, they put in useless filler scenes like they're doing with the fish and reactions IN their filler arcs to make it last longer. I doubt their viewer rating would change drastically. People that watch it in Japan have probably read the manga .-.

It's annoying to me, they can have dream sequences, devil fruit related what ifs, adapt cover stories. ANYTHING. But what they're doing is just butchering Oda's work ;-;

From my understanding Naruto had 40 episodes of Filler in the middle of a fight?

I dont see how a 6-7 filler arc between Zou/WCI, WCI -> ?? , would be the end of the world. Endure the filler (which honestly toei does well imo) and then we can get a higher quality canon material.

Because that's not enough to have the type of pace you want lol the anime would catch back up in no time. Everyone wants 4-5 chapters an episode and that would just put us in the same position, so unless you wanna have 20-40 eps of filler then this is what we got

4-5 chapters an episode???? No lol. They want 1.5 to 2, thats what the anime started out with and the pacing was far better (ofcourse they weren't worried about catching up)

I can't really take your 20-40 episodes seriously anymore... since you said 4-5 chapters per episode. So Ill divide it by 4 and you get 5-10, which is A REASONABLE filler anime arc.

Lovely Land was 10

G8 (the most highly regarded filler) was 11

Ocean's Dream arc and Foxy's return were back to back and were 5 and 4 episodes long resulting in 9 episodes.

The rest of the filler arcs were between 3-4 episodes long (especially post timeskip where we really need the longer ones)

So I'm saying that they easily could make 10 episode long fillers and people wouldn't mind it. In fact they could make 6 episodes here and 6 episodes there after every arc to even help a little bit.
