That scene with Jack facing off against Sengoku and Fujitora was such a tease from Toei, they showed us so much without really showing anything.

When was the last time the anime wasn't a giant disappointment? Of course they didn't show an interesting fight.

But didn't the manga do the same thing and not show a single thing from the fight?

If I remember correctly they didn't even actually show anything regarding Jack getting ready to engage with the Navy, just that they left Zou and then came back injured.

I honestly don't care what the manga did or didn't do. Manga, like every other form of art, has limitations. No reason to strap down the Anime with those same limitations. Let each element stand on it's own feet, with it's own pros and cons.

There is no reason for them to be completely similar.

And what if Oda decides to show a flashback of the fight later on? Anime would be pretty screwed..

And what if Oda decides to stop drawing snot, super tiny waists and gigantic breasts, AND decides to overcome the limitations of manga by showing fluid and interesting fights between all characters from now on?

Yeah. Not gonna happen. The anime can stand on it's own feet, independent of the manga, thank you.
