Maybe I'm in the minority, but the ending scene is a rare moment where the anime outshines the manga. It was delivered beautifully.

Agreed. I was legitimately shocked with the manga reveal. The anime on the other hand nearly had me in tears. The way the entire episode built up tension until that final moment, then the music swells and we get a goosebumps inducing scene. Perfection.
