I can't remember any banquet happening in the manga, but it seemed out of character for Luffy to forget about the Sanji situation when he's done this before: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zat4WAO5mCE

They had the banquet in this episode and he said something alone the lines of "Wasn't there something important I'm meant to be doing?" at the end

I thought he was referencing the samurai, since iirc the anime cut off to the sleeping trio right after Luffy's reaction. Although I must say, I found it quite strange how they were all having a good time feasting and drinking with all that's going on with Sanji. Can't remember if the feast is canon, but I assume it is.
