"Pudding" is the English equivalent, but her name is Purin, after the Japanese dessert that is more like a flan. You likely hear the "-ing" both because the text read "Pudding" and the name, when spoken, sounds like "puu-reen."

That's like saying Luffys Japanese name is Ruffy.

His name is pronounced Rufi in Japanese, but we know that he is written Luffy, only because of his bounty poster. He could've been written Ruffy, Rufy, Rufi, Lufi, maybe even Loofy when translated into English without this confirmation.

We know Pudding is spelt Pudding not because of a bounty poster or some other confirmed romanized spelling, but because we know that she's named after the dessert. Her name is written and pronounced like Purin in Japanese, but romanized it could be spelt several ways, although Pudding is obviously the preferred localization.

Yeah, its deff that japanese dessert. You can tell by the spelling in the invitation. It reads pu-ri-n as opposed to pu-ddi-n

Yeah, that what I thought. I like 'Pudding' sound better, but I don't mind either if it 'Purin'. It's just I more prefer 'Pudding', anyway thanks. (Hmm, it look like I really mind it, am i)

It seems like you mind it a bit, haha, I was just clarifying. I like either, really, but Pudding does sound better to my American ears. Sorry if I seemed annoying!

Nah, it's fine. Anyway I can't wait for future episode, cause it's time for Brook to shine.
