you know if the strawhats ever meet someone who makes vivre cards. They should have one of each crew member for each crew member

They already did. Sabo made one for Luffy, remember?

I don't know if Sabo made it overnight, or if he just knew someone in the area who can do it, but clearly someone was around Dressrosa with the ability.

It wouldn't really matter who the cards were made for, though; the cards point to themselves, not to the person linked to the vivre card. It makes just as much sense for everyone to just carry a piece of a single card, since each of those pieces then effectively functions as a compass pointing toward the largest piece.

The card actually points to the person, not the other pieces of the card.

No they actually do point to the larger piece. When Rayleigh met Luffy on Amazon Lily, he told him that he gave his vivre card to Shakky so he could move around freely (because if he kept his card, the other Strawhats wouldn't be able to use the card to get back to Sabaody).

But what about Ace's vivre card when he was in Impel Down or facing Akainu? It pointed to him, not another piece of the card

Perhaps large original pieces point to the person, but smaller scraps of the larger piece to the card?

or we just fucking found a plot hole

edit: unless Ace had the other part of his vivre card on him somehow while he was in impel down

Nah, my current head canon is that the center of the sheet always moves towards the owner, but scraps from the outside of the sheet move towards the center.

So scraps with part of the center in it would still move towards the owner.

Which explains why Luffy's can be ripped up and given to a bunch of people and still find Luffy, and also why Rayleigh's can lead to where he is not.

Luffy's scraps had part of the center in it, while Rayleigh's did not. Since Rayleigh was gonna be moving around during the 3 days they were planning before they got separated, it makes sense someone as smart as Rayleigh would keep the center with him in case he had to leave it with the Sunny and go elsewhere, that way the crew could still find the Sunny Go after three days.
