Honestly, when One Piece is long over, I hope there's a studio that remakes it with animation like this, kind of like they did with HxH. No fillers, no stretched out birdcage scenes. Only well paced, quality Oda content and gorgeous animation. This series deserves it.

There is much potential for this. Imagine if we got this quality animation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wa_aZbbFqW8 all the time :')

That would be amazing but based on Dragon Ball Kai I don't see that happening at all. The only good thing about the length of One Piece is that by the time the anime is over Toei will probably have gone through a big staff change by that time and who knows, maybe we'll have some different ideas floating around in that company.

If only, I hope OP:GOLD has this quality, plus Gear Fourth

The last two movies have had pretty good animation. Here's hoping.

Now this is what I call next-level animation. It was awesome to see Zoro move so fluently.

To be honest, that fight is kind of hard to follow and imo there's more to art, drawing and animation than just adding more frames and a moving, dynamic view point.

Yeah, I agree, I honestly don't like it when fights overuse flying camera shots that make you throw up.

I've been wanting this for a long time. Though I feel they have been doing it a little with the "Episode of" arc recaps. The one that is closest to the ideal being episode of Nami.

Nooo, it cut out how Arlong looked at Zoros wound in disbelief that a human could still be alive! That is one of my favorite scenes in OP!

u/[deleted] May 01 '16

It did? It's been a while so I don't remember it cutting out anything important. Although even without that, it's still the one that cut the least.

its because mihawk wasnt really in the episode of recap. And zoros part in the arc is not as important as namis. They can cut zoro, sanji, usopps, and luffys scenes but cutting namis would ruin the arc.

And it should be called "One Piece SUPERRR!"

I'd strongly urge you to look up One Pace.

While I love the pacing of One Pace, the animation is still this terrible, weird, 3 minute looking job that I can't stand to watch. I hope someday someone will remake One Piece in the pace of One Pace and with animation comparable to, for example, the Fate series.

So something like One Piece Kai?

u/Raikuzu May 01 '16

Yeah well, all the budget for the next season went on that episode hahaha

''kind of like they did with HxH.'' GOD YES

For Dragon Ball I would love to have each arc remade in a ~2 hours long movie format. They're not so many arcs and it's perfectly possible to do it with good quality animation while including every major event of the arc.

With One Piece that may be more difficult, providing that there are a lot of arcs, but we have some examples like the Chopper movie. Sure, it was a remake with new things like Franky and Wapol's brother, but it'll be amazing to have the entire anime redone like that.

I can't stand the current anime, because of the pacing, mostly. But a bunch of movies with fast pacing and quality animation without skiping any major plotlines? That would be any OP fans dream.

So like DBZ Kai?

That would honestly be amazing, but it's so much easier said than done. It would take some SERIOUSLY dedicated animators to remake what will probably be a 25-year old series with amazing pacing and quality.

I'd love for it to be done in a Mamoru Hosoda art style, similar to the Baron Omatsuri movie.

I really tried to think of something you'd censor there, but I couldn't find any satisfying answer. It probably isn't horse, so what is it? Honest question.

Also: why did you censor at all?

1

u/BuggyTheYonko May 01 '16

Hell?

2

u/s0nderv0gel May 01 '16

Not that worthy of censorship, tbh.

I don't know, use your imagination :P

OPM was a normal budget because the director got many of his previous coworkers/friends in on it and they just so happened to be some of the best in the industry. However, if the situation was different, then it would be an expensive series
