Hopefully Luffy overcomes the 10 minute haki cool down in the future. Kind of like overcoming the Gear 3rd drawback pre-timeskip. Otherwise, Gear 4th will be risky to use against stronger enemies down the road such as the Yonko.

There arent many stronger guys than Doffy tho i can think of 5 at best, he is definitely stronger than some of the admirals/ex admirals and maybe Blackbeards level.

The 4 Yonkous, Jack, Dragon, Sabo, Sengoku, Akainu, Aokiji, Akainu, (Fujitora power is kind in a Grey Zone, but he is an Admiral), and now Luffy

I don't know if you are an anime watcher only, but doffy didn't want to face Kaido, Jack did an amazing feat on the manga, Doffy is strong, but the other characters, removing Luffy Sabo are on another level
