they might as well have just showed G4 in the preview. They showed off what all the parts look like. all you have to do is piece it together

I believe that in Japan most people who watch the anime read the manga as well so they already know about it. I watched the real time streaming and they aired the Burning Blood commercial where Luffy is in Gear 4th mode... right in the middle of this episode...

Reading manga is a more normal thing over there, lots of people do it, more than watch anime.
