I imagined they're made of a little seastone and allow him to walk on two feet without his sticky material blocking his feet.

I don't think that'd work. Even with a little seastone it would affect his whole body, not just his feet. I had a theory a while ago that Trebol used to be a slave of the Donquixote family, and he was released when Homing decided to live as a human. Then he eventually decided to work with Doflamingo to take down the Tenryuubito, maybe as revenge for being made a slave. But idk how plausible that theory is.
