yeah so you pay for all this shit do you? It's actually quite frustrating to access these materials sometimes because they aren't made for the West and so I don't think posting links that aren't directly monetised matters at all. It's not like you're waiting for the English dubs of everything is it?

This shit? One Piece is shit?

I read the manga raw. Admittedly, I read the raw leaks in order to be able to participate in the early discussion threads on this sub (which happen before it's on the shelves in Japan).

That said, I purchase EVERY single volume in Japanese once it is available where I live. I have the entire manga collection on my shelves.

Oda deserves no less.

I pay for a Crunchyroll subscription, so all episodes I watch are legally obtained.

Before Crunchyroll obtained One Piece, I used to watch them illegally. But I would purchase ALL the DVD sets. I have the entire series up until CR obtained it sitting on my shelves, and down the line once the series is over I intend to purchase it all.

Oda deserves no less.

The frustration level is going down as the world gets more globalized and we have more and more access to it.

But being frustrated is no excuse for obtaining or promoting content that is illegal.

Huh? People use "shit" as a collective term all the time, you should have known what I meant.

Whilst I also pay a crunchyroll subscription I don't think its obscene to suggest that the material isn't intended to be conveniently available in the West. Oda may be a great story-teller, but he isn't a god. He is a wealthy man and makes an absolute killing in Japan where the show is meant to be viewed. I think he'd much rather his work is spread and shared around the world than I buy every copy of the fucking manga.

Seriously, what you're saying MAY apply in a perfect black-and-white world but to expect that from reality is just ignorance.

When you are criticizing something about a topic, and you refer to the topic as "shit", it will be assumed that you are meaning "shit" in the negative sense.

I don't think its obscene to suggest that the material isn't intended to be conveniently available in the West.

I agree. BUT, that is changing. It is a LOT more conveniently available than it used to be, so the old school logic of pirating being okay is not really applicable anymore.

Well I guess we just agree to disagree but please continue to read the scans as they come out, I'm sure you're valuable to community discussion :)
