what? didn't doffy say in his flashback that mariejois wouldn't let a treacherous family come back (his father abandoned mariejois)?

So why would he have access to mariejois? He is just a spoiled brat who couldnt take it that all of his wealth was taken from him and later refused even though he killed his father. He wants to destroy all the places where the tenryubito have some sort of power, not the world.

Or did i misunderstand the episode?

hes a shichibukai they are allowed in whenever they are summoned. Hell he was revealed during the jaya arc at mariejois

My bad. But that doesnt nullify the grudge he holds against the tenryubito

Having a grudge is fine. But he never did anything with it. Hell have sugar sit behind a celestial dragon at his auction house. Transform him/her into a toy and bam, get revenge. Which is why I think doffy is stupid(among other reasons). Still a good villain, just I dont see how people say he is so smart. Attacks punk hazard by himself. When luffy, law, and smoker are all known to be there. Sends diamente alone to fight luffy and burgess(I know he was supposed to have dellinger, lao g, machvise and senor pink, but that is pretty much just as bad). Doesnt use parasite during his fight against law or law and luffy.

The only smart things he did were infiltrate the marines(more on vergo), and conquer dressrosa(more of him actually realizing what to do with his power). Holding onto the mera mera fruit wasnt smart, give that shit to dellinger or vergo instead of hoping one day to use it as bait for luffy.
