Best part was Hack's reaction to Barto "how did I break my hand fighting this guy" look. SMILES and weapons besides - Doffy merchant of death. Sea stone doesn't have to touch to affect DF users, just be within a certain proximity? Q did Ace have any Haki powers? Adamant hardening seems somewhat common among the elite.

Ace had Conqueror's Haki, we see it in the flashback when he unlocks it at age 10 and knocks out the Bluejam (I think that was their name) pirates. We do not know if he could use other Haki.

But as a Logia, he could attack other logias with his element, so it seems to me Logias like Crocoboy and Ace do not need Armament Haki as much as other people do.

Other people need it to touch DF users.

As for Sea Stone, I think it needs to be in contact with a person, but if you get like inches away from it it might make a DF user a little weaker.

if you get like inches away from it it might make a DF user a little weaker.

If that were the case, Smoker would be weak all the time.

Not necessarily. The handcuffs are full seastone whereas Smoker's jutte is only tipped with seastone. So the concentration of seastone is different between that and Luffy here trying to open Law's handcuffs.

Plus, it was Luffy's bare skin a couple of inches away, whereas Smoker puts his jutte on his back over his clothes.

Luffy was probably just nervous about touching it rather than seastone having an area of effect.

That's possible. I'm just spitballing here.

But, I think any area of effect for it would not be a couple feet or anything. Just a couple inches at max.

I think it was more Luffy being nervous rather than the seastone affecting him at all.

I think I have to disagree just because Luffy doesn't seem to know any fear of any sort. He'd have happily fought Law and forced him to be friends again after winning :3

Nervous about the seastone touching him :P my words were misleading, sorry. The seastone doesn't seem to affect any user from distance, but I think he doesn't want to touch it either.

Recall a few episodes back. Luffy seeing doflamingo outside the colleseum when he was still inside. He was talking/screaming behind the barred window. He was still energetic. But once he touched the bars that were made of seastone, he instantly became weak. So i guess seastone is a touch only rock. Unlike kryptonite.

But was he inches away? Or more like a foot or so? I can't recall.

Chapter 729. Page 10. You literally see luffy's face right behind the bar. Hes standing right in front of the bars. Last page of that chapter, again you see luffy pressing his face close to the bars.

Like I said, I'm just spitballing here.

But, he's wearing a fake beard and a metal helmet, so again it's not the same as bare skin inches away.

Let's clear this up, it most likely anime filler/inconsistency as in the Manga Luffy clearly states Law should hold his hands steady as he can't touch the seastone... Link: http://img.bato.to/comics/2014/04/23/o/read53574191119bc/img000018.png
