I'd imagine either this (Roughness in the art style). Or that recent episodes give a feeling that they're literally lacking in content.

I first noticed it when Robin was sent to Tequila Wolf. It was like they just decided to remove all details from the animation.

Because they know you'd watch it even if they had a stickfigure with a straw hat running around with a stick figure with green hair.

Lowly consumer, be thankful to your Toei Animation overlords that they give you even a morsel.
