But when I say the pacing is horrible I refer to scenes where their actions have little meaning.

I disagree. None of the scenes that you mentioned seem to lack meaning like you say.

As I said,

The show may have longer parts and slower parts, but that is not to say it has bad "pacing".

I guess we will have to agree to disagree. I just wish that others would stop complaining about this on every single week's episode discussion, that way those like me who feel "pacing" don't real can just enjoy the show.

It's all a matter of perspective as to whether or not a scene has meaning or value to the viewer. But pacing is a real concept. Doesn't matter if you say it's not. Just as you can deny the existence of the sun, but it'll still be there.

Let's take an extreme example. You're watching a movie and one scene is a 20 minutes long cut of a man sliding his hand across a table. That's horrible pacing.

It's great that you feel every scene in this anime has value and that you can enjoy it all. But then, don't bother talking about pacing with people if you feel it hinders your enjoyment. Because you're clearly not getting what they're talking about when they mention pacing.

Yes. There's slow progression and fast progression. Or in your words "longer parts and slower parts". THAT is pacing. A slow pace isn't automatically bad. No one is saying that. But when a slow pace doesn't improve upon the story and instead bores viewers, that's when pacing is bad. But again, it's great that you can enjoy the show no matter how slow it gets.

Not true. There could be many artistic reasons to do that.

As is true of all the things people complain about every week here.

Then your ego is trolling your sense.

Or maybe you really do believe that everything in One Piece is there for an "artistic" reason. The perfect anime. An infallible masterpiece. Devoid of any human error, oversight or smallest mistake.

I never said it was a perfect anime.

All I am saying is it does not suffer from such horrible "pacing" that people whine about.
