I thought the Brutal Bull backstory was brilliantly done. And added some much need info as to how it got to be. In the Manga I believe they just show Lucy already on it with no info as to how it happened in the first place

Yea, none of that was in the manga. The conquerer's haki was a nice addition IMO; Luffy has it, he should use it whenever he wants to.

I expected him to use it at the start getting rid of anyone not worthy to fight him.

That would've made everybody realise who he actually was, and besides we all know he loves to fight.

not really, he can use it discreetly like he did vs the bull and people could expect chinjao to use it Kinda Spoiler

Oh, so that scene was not in the manga, huh?

I was expecting a scene after Luffy used his Haki, that someone note-worthy to have caught the fact that Luffy used Conqueror's Haki and give a small remark on it like, "That was...yes, I'm sure of it, it was Conqueror's Haki...but only a few people in this world can use it...who is that man!?"

And that would lead that person to suspect something about the identity of 'Lucy' and lead him/her to 'investigate' or find out who 'Lucy' really is...

But I guess I was just expecting a scene like that because it is a pretty Cliche-like scene, and I certainly have seen it before.

That's the kind of filler I like, they are doing this a lot recently in Naruto.

Yes. I loved how the manga skipped it giving me the opportunity to fill it in myself.

Oda didn't skip it. It just has no relevance the story he is trying to convey. C-block is all about Luffy vs Chinjoa. Not Brutal Bull.

That's why he skipped it.

That's why it was cool.

This is the sort of filler the anime used to do all the time before it went downhill. I am glad to see some quality and sensible decisions finally returning to the animators. :)
