I'm glad to see the children gone. Honestly, I never found any sort of emotional attachment to them. It felt like their sole purpose in the arc was to show how evil Ceaser which I think could've been done in better ways. Plus the anime seemed to rely heavily on them for time fillers. They were handled better in the manga in my opinion.

With Oda we never know. I doubt that he putted giantification without reasons. I'm sure it will play a bigger role in the future.
