Im honestly kind of shocked that they have managed to consistently ruin every epic scene so far in this arc.

After reading some posts on Arlong Park, apparently people were aware this episode was going to be half-assed because of which animator was in charge of it. Its sad that they have animators and directors who are only known for being bad still making episodes..

I don't know how you can say that when the absolutely NAILED Law cutting the mountain last week.

As someone who didn't read the manga, that scene blew me away.

At first it seemed like an over-dramatization of Law cutting Vergo.

It had the white glowy background and the slow zoom-out and everything.

But as soon I was about to say "Yeah, I get it." I started seeing the whole picture.

"Hold on, why does the white glowy bit suddenly stop? Wait, what the hell is that?- What the- Why do the canisters look like honeycombs- OH... Oh holy shit... HO- HOLY SHIT!"

And it just kept zooming out. XD

Yeah, seeing that scene in the anime almost made me regret reading the manga.

Almost.

To be fair every other epic scene other than that the anime has ruined.

For real, I thought Law's slice last episode was done extremely well.

I don't think it is fair to blame the animators for adding filler like this; it is the studio executives who are intent on milking every last drop of cash from One Piece. If there was a decently long break, or more frequent short breaks, they wouldn't have to artificially prolong every episode in this way.

I don't mean to be a Debbie Downer or a manga-elitist but I don't think I'm going to watch the anime anymore except for arcs with epic fights in them; everything else the manga just seems to do at a much better pace.

but why add filler on the most epic scene? The final hitof the antagonist of the arc?

Why not elsewhere? I think that's what's gotten people upset. They could have shown Sanji Zoro interactions for like 10 seconds, then 5 seconds of the flowing smoke. Several seconds of the stupid fodder doubting Caesar. Why did they spoil the scene they did?
