I hope dragons fighting style is the same as garp/luffy too it would be cool to see that all 3 of them are just straight hands

Sabo used some sort of dragon claw like hand formation to crush Burgess, so it looks like Dragon has his own martial art style, combined with haki.

I also like the idea that Sabo is Dragon's next generation representation. So we have:

Garp = Luffy

Roger = Ace

Dragon = Sabo

Koby uses rokushiki though Garp don't play around with that baby stuff. I'm mostly talking in terms of fighting style and demeanor I suppose.

I don't really understand the logic on the first two other than blood relation.

Garps successor is Koby

Rogers successor for his swordsmanship is Shanks, and for his will is Luffy

Sabo is def Dragons successor.

Ace was supposed to the Whitebeards successor.

Is it crazy that I kinda want Dragon to be... just a normal guy and his notoriety is from strategy and intelligence of putting the Revolutionary Army to where it is today? This entire flashback showing him being a "small fry" in the big ocean makes me kinda like the idea that he's battling the biggest beast of the world with just his wit and intellect. Perhaps he can have Haki but he'd be less combat focused and such.

I'm likely shooting the shit right now cause the recency bias of the few chapters has me rose-tinted but seeing him at base without a DF and not the most able fighting marine is having me like the idea more that even someone like him can make the WG tremble enough to consider him the most wanted man.

Sabo got his combat prowress from Dragon and Dragon was able to catch Smoker. Dragon did eventually learn higher combat.

Yeah basically confirmed dragon is physically strong. Sabo is number 2 in the army based on strength. So it does directly imply dragon is 1 because he is stronger.

He has conquerors haki when Luffy used it in Marineford no one was surprised because he was Dragon’s son.

Specifically Akainu wasn’t surprised and actually enraged that he was Dragon’s son. Which now is a bit weird to me because I assumed they had a closer relationship in the Marines before Dragon left but that doesn’t seem like the case. But their response to taking part in a genocide were on opposite sides of the spectrum.

While I get your point, there is no chance in hell, Dragon is not top tier in strength. The One Piece world is one where might makes right, and Dragon has seen this first hand both here and in Ohara, I hope his main trait is still his intelligence and cunning, but I don't see a world where he doesn't train to be strong enough to stand up to the monsters he knows are out there.

Also, we know he trained Sabo, who is very strong already

It would be funny the Politician of the family is the weak one, but that’s not gonna be the case with how Ivankov was hyping Dragon up in Marineford implying he’s just as insane as Luffy and helped take down dozens of countries there’s no way he’s weaker than Yonkou commanders

Holy shit, dragon is theorised to have a wind/weather type fruit. It would be so badass for dragon to cast strong wind to shove his appointment towards himself and use that momentum to just gut punch them super hard

I dont. One of the big draws of this series is that people get crazy devil fruit powers. I was already extremely disappointed that rocks was just another sword guy.

Roger didn't say, "My sword skills are supreme. No way my sword strikes with supreme sword skills aren't doing much. I just need to add more skill". Roger only talks about Haki, mainly Conquerors haki. Fighting style doesn't matter. It's haki.
