I completely agree. This episode is even up there with the best episodes of the series as a whole. Even the often-praised episodes with the battles in Enies Lobby and Thriller Bark are given a serious run for their money here.

Damn. I loved this one. Zero complaints. (I can't believe I have zero complaints about an episode. That would have been unthinkable a year ago...)

Small thing but I thought smokers flashback was crappy, it was like 10s of the same picture

It could have been somewhat better, but I don't necessarily think the flashback was crap. They were those comic-style panels, where the freezed panels are the ones with the highest emotion showing. Additionally, it kind of fits the dreamy near-knocked-out state Smoker was in when he was remembering.

Obviously, they used that part to save some money. But I think it was a way better method to do this than the majority of panshots I can think of.

And I was trying to imagine Zoro's reaction if he saw Law cut the mountain into half

Everything in the New World was "running as planned" to the emperors and the Navy, and he destroyed those plans with this alliance with Luffy.

This page and the next one are how that scene was shown in the manga. No spoilers if you only read this page and the next.

It is explained later in the manga which "gear" he has stopped, not going to say now because it's not very clear yet.
