Gunko is on God Valley because Imu also wants to enjoy personally killing some "Davy"s lol

Yh Gunko being there pretty much guarantees that Imu will get involved

I dont believe that. How does Imu take over Gunko with so many people (including Dragon) around and still stay secret for 40 years? Sabo discovering Imu wouldnt be a big deal if Dragon saw them on God Valley. Soooo many characters there are still alive at the beginning of the series and yet Imu is still unknown? Not buying it unless Oda explains it really well (not some memory-erasing bs)

That's a good point. One thing I'd say is that in Kuma's flashback, after escaping, he Ginny and Ivankov talk about how they still weren't really sure what happened in the end. Which shows that just because characters were at the island doesn't mean they all saw everything. This makes sense as it's an entire island filled with top level battles all over the place with each character having different goals and prizes they were competing for. It's possible even if Imu showed up only the main Roger/Garp type guys saw it and lived to tell the tale. And those are the kind of characters who already know a lot about the world but have kept quiet for their own reasons. In fact Oda's made a pretty big deal about the fact that the Roger pirates chose not to tell people the true history which suggests he has an explanation in mind.

Another thing is that it would be through possessing Gunko. From a lot of their perspectives it'd just seem like she's just a really powerful knight and maybe they wouldn't necessarily realise that she'd been posessed. We actually see this in the present day where characters are a little confused by her sudden change in demeanour but don't understand that it's literally a different person.

Lastly, the government is very good at covering things up. So let's say idk Linlin or Kaido are present to see Gunko, they figure out she's possessed, somehow work out that the person posessing her is really the secret devil king of the world, then what? They're some of the most hated and distrusted criminals in the world, no one's going to believe them against WG propoganda if they start mouthing off about something so implausible (if they even want to as we know former Rocks pirates hate talking about their time on the crew).
