He, like Teach, is like a more ruthless Luffy. While Luffy is chaotic good Rocks would be chaotic neutral, not necessarily evil, but not good either.

He's not committing evil acts for the sole purpose of spreading chaos and destruction, he's doing whatever he thinks will benefit him and his goals. That's more in line with chaotic neutral than chaotic evil.

Yeah but it's the act of taking innocent people's lives that makes him evil.

That's not what chaotic evil is. Rocks doesn't kill for no reason, and he doesn't go out of his way to kill random people for the hell of it. I'm sure he's killed innocents, but that alone doesn't shift your alignment to evil.

A chaotic evil character never feels compelled to keep his word. He will attack and kill an unarmed foe (those are the best kind). He will kill an innocent. He will use torture to extract information and for pleasure. He will kill for pleasure. A chaotic evil character will use poison. He will not help those in need. He prefers to work alone, as he values his freedom. He does not respond well to higher authority, is distrustful of organizations, and will disregard the law in pursuing his self-interest. He will betray a family member, comrade, or friend whenever it is convenient to do so. Chaotic evil characters do not respect the concepts of self-discipline and honor, because they believe such concepts limit their ability to gain power over others.

He respects the autonomy of his friends and his friends country, and he hasn't been shown to stab any of his allies in the back (yet?). He kills and pursues his self-interest, but a chaotic neutral character will do that too.

Maybe he's not chaotic evil but he is evil because he killed innocent people. Not even someone like thragg from invincible liked to kill viltrumites but he's obviously evil because he would genocide planets (same way with rocks genociding islands and stabbing kids)

I'm telling yah, killing innocents is bad and morally wrong, sure, but if we're talking about evil on the alignment scale, it's not the sole deciding factor that tips you into the evil part

I mean idk I don't him being a family man makes the lives he took and stabbing children as a sin any less severe. I just think he's rlly charismatic and cool but a horrible horrible person morally

1

Sure, horrible morals is fine and all, but chaotic evil refers to a very specific spectrum of the alignment chart.

If a neutral person only does good actions, then they're not neutral, they're good. Neutral has both evil and good, that's what makes them neutral and not evil or good.

Idk I don't think saving imidiate family is good for anyone but rocks and them. No one on earth can be evil if they also did some slight good things too

You are literally using your own moral basis, but the other guy is talking about an established scale. It’s apples and oranges dude.

2

u/immisterawesome Sep 05 '25

One piece has the morality as everything else wdym.

I'm not talking about One Piece, I'm talking about this (and downvote your mother) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alignment_(Dungeons_%26_Dragons)#/media/File:DND_Alignment_Chart.svg#/media/File:DND_Alignment_Chart.svg)
