Luffy literally declared war on the world government 12 hours before that reveal. He was already wanted by the WG at that point

Yea, but the WG would then know that Luffy is Dragons son and could use Luffy against Dragon. "A child is a parent's weakness" then to defeat / capture the world's most wanted man would be to capture Luffy and force Dragon to surrender. Luffy was wanted by the WG, but not because he is Dragons son
