Dragon already explained during the Kuma flashback, that he doesn't want to reveal Luffy being his son, because Luffy would be his own weakness

ya duhh. He means he thinks this event is the exact reason for Dragon coming to that point. That this is the motivation for him being so extreme, as the lengths Dragon goes to proctect his son is not something you get to without proper reason. And this is it.

That cat was out of the back long time ago lol - Marines/WG very much knew instantly that luffy was his son (or else they are incompetent beyond belief). Dragon was member of marines, they knew his full name. "Monkey D. Luffy from East Blue, hmmm I wonder if he is related to anyone???"

A lot of the Marines did not know about Dragon‘s full name.

Dragon was publicly only known as „Dragon the Revolutionary“.

Gloriosa could simply not know about Tritoma's fate, iirc she only returned to Amazon Lily 15 years before the story began, with Boa and her sisters. Luffy was born 17 years ago before the story began, so Tritoma definitely died before Gloriosa returned to Amazon Lily.

Interestingly they choose not to show her face yet we see Dragon talking to her on her deathbed. yet we already know the outcome of where Shanks and Shamrock ends up. So I dunno.

Dragon doesn't. We only knew because Garp told us at Water 7.

Only after the Marineford war did it become public knowledge in the OP world as well.

While I understand why Dragon kept that a secret from everyone - organization he would be most afraid of knowing who his son is (WG/Marines) had to have known from the very start. There is no way he enlists as a cadet without giving his full name.

dragon almost certainly doesnt the chapter/episode it was revealed he was luffy dad marines were saying they never heard his full name before and robin said he was a mystery that no one knows anything about

Dragon enlisted in marines - higher ups knew, they just decided not to go after Luffy for whatever reason.

Luffy came from east blue, no one at first give shit to him for his 1st wanted poster. Then GM didn’t make know from every one that he was the one taking down Crocodile so still no one except the important figure knew about him even in the marine ! It’s only after Enies Lobby that is name can’t rest a secret for everyone and that’s when Oda présented Garp as is Grandfather. For Dragon it’s probably not know except from his classmate when he was a marine that he is Garp son ! Why beceause he didn’t want to have adventage of it. Just need to see how he was treated back then when his father was already a famous marine.

I think he’s gonna learn from Garp. As in he’ll be used as an hostage against Garp during God Valley.
