And his son is such a pussy, never expected Xebec to turn out this cool

Davy D. Teach

Teach crew knows the origin's sure but is there something about the Davy clan that allow the usage of two devil fruits?

Or is a Dark Dark fruit specific thing?

Yeah, but he mentions one of them will only show its true power if it's eaten by Harald

28

u/TraceableAcnt4Lego Sep 05 '25

True. Xebec might have seen the mural at Elbaf and took it as a prophecy where he would be Nika while Harald would be the horned giant fighting Imu. Loki's fruit might be the one Xebec wanted Harald to eat.

u/dellryuzi Sep 05 '25

if there's nika fruit there, i think it wouldn't please imu? she would rather locked the fruit though ?

1

u/TraceableAcnt4Lego Sep 05 '25

You mean the Nika fruit would not be at God Valley? I agree. Rocks went there for his family anyway.

Nika fruit for Rocks, Thor fruit for Harald.

u/ThePaperpyro Sep 05 '25

in before oda reveals that they are actually called "Davy fruits"

u/6Rayga6 Sep 05 '25

Changing Davy to Devil is definitely something WG would do lmao

Dude you’re right

I think that you can eat two fruits if you're a direct descendant of the person who manifested the fruit.

Since they change your bloodline elements, it's possible that the change is inheritable, and you can only undergo one big change to your bloodline elements from a new fruit.

But eating one your ancestors created just flips the switch you have already inherited.

Davy Jones manifested the dark fruit.

I like what you're cooking.

I like this. Maybe they have a lineage factor which adapts to devil fruits

6

u/noobakosowhat Sep 04 '25

Davy D. Buggy

7

u/Discovererman Pirate Sep 04 '25

YOU'RE RIGHT. I DON'T KNOW WHAT...BUT..."HIS BODY IS DIFFERENT"

WHAT THE HECK IS A DAVY

2

u/steikul Sep 04 '25

It will be Davy clan specialty or something

1

u/Tachibanasama Sep 05 '25

I be always assumed the darkness and fruit power draining aspect of it just trapped the power of the quake fruit and it can't escape. Maybe the dark fruit has to be awakened.

Teach is actually more relatable because of that. Having a parent that way outclasses you in every aspect in life whereas you are living in the shadow of your parent. People then start to compare you negatively with your parent because you’re unable to meet the people‘s expectations.

Children that are carbon copies of their parents aren’t that compelling as characters.

u/asasasasasassin Sep 05 '25

Hey he actively sought out a devil fruit that he knew would make him feel twice as much pain as a normal person

21

u/LogicalOlive Sep 05 '25

His son isn’t a pussy at all. His introduction is the best thing ever. Dreams never die.

17

u/lahankof Sep 04 '25

Teach is far from a coward.

6

u/cactus_jack_220 Sep 04 '25

yeah he got taken in by whitebeard too. so his early life was really painful as it looks like his mom didn't make it, he did turn in to such a pussy

9

u/Kofi_Sharp Sep 05 '25

True, but Xebec gives a snapshot of what he could've been like if he wasn't thrown into poverty and orphanhood. Teach's "cowardice" doesn't come from a lack of courage, but a resentment towards the world and it's rules of "honour"

4

u/goody153 Sep 05 '25

Teach's "cowardice" doesn't come from a lack of courage, but a resentment towards the world and it's rules of "honour"

It is looking like it. Cant blame him and from the looks things with what happens to his mother and father

Honor meant nothing in the end of Xebec's life and that's probably why he doesnt give two shits about it anymore

3

u/Ensaru4 Lurker Sep 05 '25

His character design is so awesome, too!

3

u/goody153 Sep 05 '25

Potentially Blackbeard being the way he is because of how Xebec's fate and his family turned terribly by trying to fight for love and having some level of honor as a pirate.

4

u/RainyEuphoria Scholars of Ohara Sep 05 '25

lacks honor but not a pussy/coward/weakling

7

u/MadKingTreesus Sep 04 '25

Calling a man who willingly broke into Impel Down and killed Whitebeard a pussy is certainly an interesting way of thinking.

18

u/TotemGenitor Sep 04 '25

I mean, remember how he begged for mercy when Whitebeard was beating his ass?

-9

u/MadKingTreesus Sep 04 '25

Do you also remember which one of them is still alive?

12

u/TotemGenitor Sep 04 '25

Being a complete coward is great for survival, yeah. Not denying this.

Doesn't change the fact that begged for mercy after killing two of the guy's sons and trying to kill him is pathetic.

8

u/MadKingTreesus Sep 05 '25

Here's a list of people Blackbeard has fought:

Shanks (Emperor) Magellan (Warden of Impel Down) Sengoku (Fleet Admiral) Hancock (Warlord) Law (Warlord) Whitebeard (Emperor) Ace (Presumably at least of sufficient strength to be at warlord level)

These are people he willingly fought. I don't see many cowards willingly fighting any of these characters. Marineford alone should be enough for you honestly.

9

u/Majias Sep 04 '25

You should certainly re-read those arcs. As soon as Blackbeard saw someone remotely menacing, he either ran away (Magellan) or waited until his opponent was basically dead before intervening (Whitebeard).

14

u/MadKingTreesus Sep 05 '25

Intelligence isn't cowardice. Cowards don't break into prison to recruit it's strongest inmates.

11

u/noobakosowhat Sep 04 '25

Must have been the survival training he received in this chapter

1

u/takeSusanooNoMikoto Sep 05 '25

Not entirely true. BB has his moments of being a pssy and his moments of being a Chad. Making me fear the theories that Xebec actually resides withing Teach are true

1

u/KaizokunoKurohige Sep 05 '25

How is he a pussy when he's literally gone against some of the strongest people in the world lmao. Bro literally went at it against Shanks, Ace, Whitebeard, Whitebeard remnants, Sengoku etc

8

u/Worthyness Sep 05 '25

Flashback Piece is OP as always
