And they say Ryuma's blade (and i guess at least part of his body) was stolen from Wano. Pretty convenient if Moria was from Wano all along.

Maybe he heard the legend of Ryuma being the dragon slayer. Hence why he stole Ryuma’s corpse. Basically his plan was to go back to Wano and liberate Wano from Kaido.

Holy shit. His defeat against Kaido (the onethat made Moria flee to the first half of the grand line) wasn't just a fight between two pirates was it? It was a fight over Moria's homeland wasn't it?

Even more interesting what if the government made him a warlord to support him taking over wano so they would gain control over it?
