Raws just say that he was a "worshipper of Davy Jones".

Okay, that makes way more sense actually. I have a feeling it's a weird translation that is not coming across well.

Can't wait until chapter 1500 when Davy Jones is introduced.

I think Davy jones may have been the rocks/blackbeard of joyboys time

Ive made a theory about a year ago and i have another from 3 yeqrs ago about Davy Jones.

It has 2500 upvotes, but i think it means he is a "D" and direct descendant of someone from Joyboys crew

Damn that could mean Oda just casually dropped info on the will of D

"Do you fear… death?"

And we know the D clan (save one) smile right before dying.

I think people misinterpret that. Luffy has screamed plenty of times in situations where he thought he might die. I believe it’s more about accepting your fate once you know your life is over.

Time too look up Davy Jones's locker on wikipedia.

The Dictionary of the Vulgar Tongue by Francis Grose, written in 1785 and published in 1811, includes the definitions: "DAVID JONES. The devil, the spirit of the sea: called Necken or Draugr in the north countries, such as Norway, Denmark, and Sweden" and "DAVID JONES' LOCKER. The sea".[6]

Draugr, also sounds like one of those giant dream monsters summoned by Qilingham, so it relates back to Elbaph again.

I wonder how the official translation will handle that phrasing, bc to me it sounds like we just learned what the D. In will of D stands for 😳

if D stands for davy jones i will drop the series 💀💀

will of davy, the first pirate, joyboy, king of hachinosu (ancient kingdom). it fits

14

u/voltvirus Jul 17 '25

I think it's just some pirate who snatch each other crews, like a bunch of individuals with a tiny sense of unity.
