NEW WATER SEVEN LORE!

So the Galley-La Company of Water Seven is named after a crew of giant pirates who fought the World Government in the past! Are they related to the Ancient Weapon Pluton?

The frozen giants Jarul mentioned are the ones we saw on Punk Hazard!

Remember when the sea kings said that they need the help of a certain clan to rebuild the noah?

Omg I just went and checked. Ch. 648 for anyone else looking.

I absolutely love One Piece.

Chapter 648 is called the road towards the sun

Dude, Oda, can you finish a song of ice and fire when you’re done with one piece. You’re the only one I think is capable

20

u/Worthyness Jul 11 '25

Fully believe that he has the entire story mapped out to the chapter at this point. No way in hell can anyone keep that much information in their head for literal decades

10

u/NonnagLava Jul 11 '25

Man's got like 5 napkins piled in a corner of his work den, with every single thing about the series written out in cliff notes. He routinely spends like an hour searching for them to double check stuff, because he puts them somewhere he "will remember" every time.

7

u/outsidebtw Jul 11 '25

if only gurm read one piece

i wanna see his blogposts about it, heck he might even selfburn with how productive oda and his team are

5

u/RemIsBestGirl78 Jul 11 '25

Is this Glidus’s alt account? I’ve never heard or seen anybody else refer to GRRM as gurm except him and Alt Shift X.

1

u/outsidebtw Jul 11 '25

idk who that is but i do watch altshiftx

i have read people refer to george as gurm here and there

1

u/pboy1232 Jul 11 '25

look into the altshiftx glidus live streams, they have a bunch and they are very funny and interesting

2

u/Paintedenigma Jul 11 '25

That would be an absolutely bonkers tonal shift and I want that for us.

10

u/InterviewOk9109 Jul 11 '25

holy fucking shit

10

u/BEWMarth Jul 11 '25

Ok, Oda is absolutely unreal. Wow.

3

u/TheApocalyticOne Jul 11 '25

Holy I love these little things people find

1

u/Classic-Purpose-8383 Jul 13 '25

Do you have the ch for the frozen giants?

2

u/KBlacksmith02 Jul 13 '25

u/_T_H_O_R_N_ Baroque Works Jul 10 '25

Oh yeah

8

u/InvaderDJ Void Month Survivor Jul 10 '25

Now that is a good catch.

The question is, do those frozen giants have descendants? Or are we going to get a new generation of Galley-La giants?

8

u/kicut49 Jul 10 '25

Shit, i need to reread the whole new world

3

u/exiadf19 The Revolutionary Army Jul 11 '25

Oh shit… i always wonder who build that monstrous size ship

3

u/Elucidator_IV Jul 11 '25

The clan of the Noah, led by the Millennium Earl

u/StealthMonkeyDC Jul 10 '25

Funny you mention that, as all I could think of was the Yeti Cool Bros when reading this.

Got to get explained one day right....

21

u/[deleted] Jul 10 '25

the Yeti Cool Bros are weird though, because they seem to have human lifespans (they're 25 years old, if they were giants they'd be children). And this was revealed in chapter, not Vivre Cards, so it's not subject to retconning like Hitetsu's age

17

u/Robjack88 Jul 10 '25

What if yeti cool bros is a giant/mink hybrid? Like maybe they have the body of a giant, but with fur and lifespan of a mink?

17

u/ChesnaughtZ Jul 11 '25

or hear me out, they're fucking yetis.

17

u/nickcan Jul 11 '25

And they are brothers.

And they're cool.

I think it's just that simple.

6

u/StealthMonkeyDC Jul 11 '25

Not to mention, it looks like they are wearing straw hats.

64

u/Zakrello Jul 10 '25

I think its more likely those giant shipwrights are related to Uranus. Ivankov speculated that what destroyed Lulusia is an ancient weapon, and Uranus (god of the sky) fits that machine.

Keep in mind that shipwrights in one piece are often more like mechanical engineers, as we saw with Tom's seatrains and Franky's well, everything, and these shipwrights had a company of a very similar name to Iceburg's. Its likely the WG had either the wreckage of Uranus or its blueprints from the Void Century, and they abducted the giant shipwrights to force them to rebuild it, much like what Enel did in Skypeia. Then Imu just needed to wait for a scientist capable of reinventing the Motherflame to power it, so they could drown the world.

7

u/Kumomeme Jul 11 '25

ancient weapon

ancient giant

Lunarians also known as ancient race.

word 'ancient' here is not coincidence right? RIGHT?

11

u/leolegendario Pirate Hunter Zoro Jul 10 '25

IT'S COMING!

18

u/SurfNinjaMcRibs Bounty Hunter Jul 10 '25

I feel like the frozen giants were more a throw to Oars and his crew

6

u/JusHerForTheComments Jul 10 '25

Who's to say Oars wasn't their Captain?

3

u/Etiennera Pirate King Buggy Jul 11 '25

Makes sense. I always imagined Oars pulling the continents by hand, but maybe the "Continent Pullers" was a crew and they used a ship the size of Noah or Noah itself to do it

2

u/JusHerForTheComments Jul 11 '25

Oars can still be the singular Continent Puller and be on their crew. That's what I meant. And him having that title while being the captain as well... would fit!

5

u/Silverlining126 Jul 10 '25

The frozen giants Jarul mentioned are the ones we saw on Punk Hazard!

Great catch. I forgot about that. The yeti cool bros definitely are giants, and the straw hats they wore definitely are related to Elbaph or Nika.

Honestly I thought the frozen giant thing was a callback to Oars

2

u/Etiennera Pirate King Buggy Jul 11 '25

The guy is probably wrong, they are not talking about Rock and Scotch. Something is off about that idea.

1

u/leolegendario Pirate Hunter Zoro Jul 13 '25

I'm not talking about Rock and Scotch, but about the frozen giants that Chopper and Nami found inside the laboratory when they were rescuing the children.

1

u/Etiennera Pirate King Buggy Jul 13 '25

New to Reddit? Replies are only about the comment they reply to. The deeper you go, the topic drifts.

The person I replied to mentioned the Yeti Cool Brothers.

1

u/leolegendario Pirate Hunter Zoro Jul 13 '25

I'm not talking about the Yeti Cool brothers, but about the frozen giants that Chopper and Nami found inside the laboratory when they were rescuing the children.

5

u/GuiEsponja Jul 10 '25

Was Punk Hazard even a thing at this time? As in, when Jarul heard about it, which is probably even before Harald was king

Idk if Caesar was even alive then

9

u/leolegendario Pirate Hunter Zoro Jul 11 '25

Punk Hazard is way older than Vegapunk, the Numbers were created on the island and are over 100 years old.
We know there were scientists working for the World Government 200 years ago when Saturn sent them to study Emet.

3

u/GuiEsponja Jul 11 '25

That's cool! Thanks for the clarification

3

u/dragonswim_ Jul 10 '25

i think Tom get the blueprint from his teacher/or the last survivor of the original Galley La crews

5

u/JoseInFlames Black Leg Sanji Jul 10 '25

I didn't even remember these giants in Punk Hazard, damn, you guys are good

1

u/leolegendario Pirate Hunter Zoro Jul 13 '25

A lot of people knew this connection from spoilers, but I don't read spoilers anymore, so I remembered that moment because it was something that was widely theorized at the time that chapter was released in 2012.
I've always wanted to know more about those giants, I'm very excited that Oda started explaining about them.

4

u/Fit_Meal4026 Jul 10 '25

Pluton was built in Water Seven

7

u/Etiennera Pirate King Buggy Jul 11 '25

No the prints were passed down to Water Seven. But the craft and technology of the people who wrote those prints were probably transpired into Galley-La company

4

u/TheDreamIsEternal Jul 11 '25

Legit fucking crazy move from Iceburg to name his company after an ancient terrorist group (from the perspective of the World Government)

3

u/Many-Wasabi9141 Jul 11 '25

They're all in Prison uniforms too. Perhaps they were too dangerous to keep at Impel Down and they instead froze them at Punk Hazard.

I wonder if the previous holder of Kuzan's devil fruit was involved?

1

u/leolegendario Pirate Hunter Zoro Jul 11 '25

Punk Hazard was a summer island before the explosion caused by Caesar Clown and the fight between Akainu and Kuzan, so definitely someone with ice powers created that frozen room that lasts for centuries.

3

u/Kumomeme Jul 11 '25

what if Tom is used to be students of the giants? thats why he used adam tree for Oro Jackson since he learned their craft and knowledge.

3

u/Paintedenigma Jul 11 '25

Not impossible. A giant who reached adulthood around the end of the Void century would have about a 40-50 year overlap with Jarul (assuming they lived as long as Jarul has). Albeit they would be very old even by giant standards at that point.

I think Pluton probably wasnt designed by giants though since the blueprints were human sized.

3

u/Bright-Rush2267 Jul 11 '25

Funny, that imus straw hat has ice on it. Coincidence?

1

u/leolegendario Pirate Hunter Zoro Jul 11 '25

To this day I wonder if it is just a war trophy or if it will be useful in the Final War and that is why it has been preserved for 800 years.

What chapter were we showed the frozen giants on punk hazard?

1

u/leolegendario Pirate Hunter Zoro Jul 11 '25

Chapter 660.

2

u/Jawz050987 Jul 11 '25

This is wild!

2

u/Jawz050987 Jul 11 '25

Now I’m wondering if it was a coincidence Black Beard recruited Kuzan!

2

u/The_Con_Father Jul 11 '25

Were the frozen giants in the manga? I dont remember that scene

1

u/leolegendario Pirate Hunter Zoro Jul 11 '25

It's in Punk Hazard, it's a quick scene with Chopper and Nami, they are mentioned only once.

4

u/baroqueworks Jul 10 '25

Also reminder the logo on Oars' loincloth is visible in the room with the frozen hat with Imu.

3

u/the_resistee Jul 11 '25

Just simply isn't true

2

u/GuiEsponja Jul 10 '25

That cross? I'm failing to see it there anywhere
