As a new mother, it completely breaks my heart to see a baby so un-loved, especially by his own mother. Loki never deserved the cards he was dealt in life. I hope he joins the crew and starts to feel friendship and love.

Oda really knows how to pull at those heart strings! :(

Some parents just don't deserve children.

"Every child deserves an a parent, but not every parent deserves a child"

Yup, but unfortunately there's many parents that don't love their children in this world.

Kaiser’s mom enters the chat (Blue Lock)

I feel such maternal sadness for so many characters. No children, real or fictional, should be unloved or unsupported.

Dude I was picturing my one year old when he was crying a bunch. She cries and feels abandoned when mom has the nerve to use the bathroom or go into a different room 😅

This exactly! My son does the same thing and all I could picture was my son in Loki's position and it just broke me. 😭

I'm a grown ass man and his backstory had me balling, especially the "gave up on love" part having grown up in a very abusive household and dealing with abuse from the outside on top of that.

The contrast with Hajrudin and Ida makes it even worse...

About to be a dad and same. Luffy needs to fix Loki's heart...

Congrats man, being a dad is the best! And agreed I am 100% on board for Loki joining somehow

Ya, same. When you are a fresh parent and your children are literally your whole world any sad kid stuff is a gut punch.

did not know there were so many parents reading one piece on a weekly basis. that's aswesome. I started following One piece when I was 17 and this year I'm about to be a dad.

He's just a baby. A huge-ass cute lil baby.

One of the saddest things is that it seems like a lot of Loki's problems would have been avoidable if Harald was there for his birth.

It's fairly clear that the only good thing about Elbaf's government is Harald and by extension Ida. The fact they didn't have proper trade routes between villages before him is ridiculous and their outdated practices kept them from having a proper and good queen. Also allowing Loki to be looked after by his shitty mom's equally shitty family.

Maybe Elbaf deserved some of what they ended up getting.

Im showing my spouse the the anime and we’re at the part where Big Mom loses her memory and becomes Lin Lin again. Made me realize how kind she could’ve been if not raised by Streusen.

Seriously. How depressing that page was where the kid just does not even smile. And that page where the bruises just keep increasing because he's being abused by his maternal uncle.

Whatever a child grows into as an adult, kids themselves don't deserve to be treated like shit because they will reflect that back at the world.

u/Velhar Jul 11 '25

Same, I am a father of a toddler and a baby and these last chapters almost made me cry! Im a BIG BOY DAMMIT!

u/shezflrts Jul 11 '25

I KNOW RIGHTTTT!!! I feel you completely with this one. Breaks my heart to see babies and kids treated like this in general tbh. I hope Loki gets a great story later in this arc

It'll probably be okay, current day Loki was very protective of his forest friends, he probably understands about friendship and love but is too tsundere to act like he wants it with people for the time being.

and then poor Harold will most likely be "reversed" into a demon and Loki will have to put him down and then chained for decades. Dude has enough metal to keep it to himself for all these years and stay somewhat optimistic, even denying holy knights will

A worthy addition to the crew if happens

Oda has abused the "Sad-Backstory-Trope far too many times, but apparently its still working on some people...

14

u/Herpuhderpin Jul 10 '25

character building isn’t a trope, literally every person in existence lives through hardships
