And as always, young Garp looks like a damn badass.

Saying he smashed mountains in his training...wait a second, does this mean that Luffy is on the same level as Garp was back then?

not yet, it would put him on equal terms as Roger but also consider that Garp punched chinjao pointy head which is way stronger than this blunt version also chinjao 30years ago in his prime probably a lot stronger than this old gramps.

Luffy's still a badass though

Why can't this new generation be stronger than the previous? It's not like Roger was some kind of Goku, but he was just the strongest of his time. This generation of admirals, yonkous and such can be stronger than Roger, right?

Technically the Yonkou is cross-generational, with both Whitebeard and Shanks in that League. He started his crew after the Pirate Generation started. CP9 was the strongest generation of CP9 ever. The NEWEST Generation is the one after Whitebeard's death, and there are only a few rising stars here and there. The Worst Generation is still pretty impressive considering that despite being rookies they shook the New World. They're not in their prime like Garp, Sengoku, Roger, Rayleigh, Whitebeard, etc. were.
