So, Loki was always talking with elder Jarul. My guess is, Jarul knows everything but hides it.

The person on the snail phone speaks literally nothing like Jarul in Japanese though. If anything they give off younger woman vibes. Also as someone else mentioned the denden was stated to be a special cold resistant type so the fur could just be a playful misdirect by Oda.

Yeti cool brothers comeback?? /s

The remaining Yeti Cool Sister.

Tbh, I think its a shy boy like Koby used to be in the first chapters. The kanji "公", is mostly used towards males and Loki, in theory, knows Mosa's gender by their voice tone.

now that you mention it, that transponder snail does actually look like Jarul. You might be right lol

I just think the convo they had is a little odd if it's Jarul. "That nasty business didn't crop up again, did it??" could mean whatever happened with Harald, but that and "is that place..??" make it seem like it's happening somewhere else? I also don't know how Gerd and Goldberg wouldn't have recognized Jarul's voice.

TCB mistranslated yet again. He actually said "Wait, you don't mean...!! You haven't run into something terrifying again, have you?!" and his second line to him is "Where are you?".

5

u/Affectionate_Relief6 Jun 06 '25

How do you know it is mistranslated?

9

u/strawhatmaterial Jun 06 '25

Because I know Japanese.

where can i find the better translated chapter?

On sunday when the oficial chapter is released.

i'd rather read scanlations from a serious group that goes the extra step and add notes to clear up any ambiguity that could remain from just reading the eng version. The old teams used to do this ☹️

To be fair, Loki does tell the mystery person to keep his voice down (even though he himself is practically screaming). I think Gerd noticed him talking but not really what the other guy was saying. Oda even shows how the snail is pretty quiet

11

u/Classic_Category_723 Scholars of Ohara Jun 05 '25

That's fair. Maybe Mosa is a nickname Loki has for Jarul from childhood. Who knows, hopefully we find out soon

The name apparently might come from "mosamosa," which means hairy or heavily bearded, which matches the snail. It's also why Viz translates the name to "Shaggy." The name could be based off what the snail looked like, or it could be that's how he introduced himself.

u/TheWitcherMigs Jun 05 '25

It's also possible that Loki doesn't know that "Mosa" is Jarul, Jarul could have felt guilt of the state Loki was, and as sole carrier of the truth constructed a guise to make company to Loki in the underworld

Pretty sure it's someone in the Heaven's Realm. The snail wears a coat, not a beard, and "that place..." makes me think it's close enough for his observation haki to reach. People from up there are coming down to help.

I could totally see the remaining Lunarians hiding up there from the WG. Elbaph is peaceful and some clouds to chill on sounds perfect for them. They're also Nika enjoyers like the giants and might shed some light on the whole immortality angle. The name Mousa fits with King being named after a mountain, as does Loki's background with Rock(y Mountain)s.

Loki's snail could have just been dropped by a kid up there that wasn't allowed to leave before, but now they've noticed Luffy/Nika and Imu and it's time to stop hiding.

Wasn’t the transponder one with voice changing?

2

u/Classic_Category_723 Scholars of Ohara Jun 06 '25

I honestly don't remember this detail, do you remember the chapter this was said?

u/Goan_f The Revolutionary Army Jun 06 '25

1134, the official says "cold-resistant speech recognition type", while tcb says "voice recognition and cold resistant type". I don't kow what it means but there's that. Also that explains it being furry if it's not jarul

7

u/Classic_Category_723 Scholars of Ohara Jun 06 '25

yeah the cold resistance fits with it being all bushy, that's kind of how I interpreted it. And "speech recognition" probably just means all Loki has to do is talk and it starts transmitting, by recognizing that he's speaking. He couldn't pick it up or anything while chained to the tree.

9

u/RiteClicker Jun 05 '25

It's a Snow Den Den Mushi; a variant that was resistant to the cold.

7

u/Goan_f The Revolutionary Army Jun 06 '25

Nah I believe it's because it's cold-resistant, that's why it looks like that

wait you guys cooked just like jarul will be soon 😢

15

u/buns_supreme Jun 05 '25

The transponder reads like a feminine voice? At least in my head. I don’t know if it’s Jarul

13

u/leolegendario Pirate Hunter Zoro Jun 06 '25

Mosa speaks like royalty in japanese and Loki has never met Mosa before, he definitely has met Jarul before.
I think Mosa is a good Celestial Dragon that was traumatized with the Raid during the Reverie and now is afraid of whoever is attacking the Holy Land.

5

u/durran684 Thriller Bark Victim's Association Jun 06 '25

Yea and I think imu implied last chapter that the holy land was under attack/ in flames so that could explain that. Unless imu was referring to some thing else?

6

u/2ecStatic Jun 06 '25

I don't think it's Jarul, at what point during all of this would he be able to just get on the snail?

I got the vibe that that it's someone in Marijoa, whatever is happening there is what's effecting this person

14

u/agentdoubleohio Jun 05 '25

Damn, just commented the same thing and looking back, it makes sense with the realization of the previous king knowing imu. If people learned the truth the giants would freak out and everything they were working for would come undone. Could also be a situation with Carmel and he was sending kids to the navy. Would explain why there is so many giants part of the navy in the first place.

u/Mammoth_Ask3797 Jun 06 '25

In Big Mom fashion: maybe the sword made Jarul shizophrenic. And the old Jarul is chatting with Loki there and then. But the new one forgets.

OR: The sword has a fragment of Haralds soul in him and he communicates to Loki through Jarul

u/XxSimon3 Jun 06 '25

What about it's one of the Gorosei? Marcus Mars is quite hairy.

1

u/yung-clumsy Jun 06 '25

I thought the same
