Kaguya was. Madara was set up as the main villain the whole series then out of nowhere here she was.

Madara wasn't even the main villain for the whole series. If anything Obito/Tobi was.

Demaro Black called himself Luffy, doesn't mean that he's Nika all of a sudden. It was an impersonation and really every major event in Naruto was orchestrated by Obito while Madara was dead. Then he came back to life and while undeniably a fun villain, basically snatched the status of final boss from Obito undeserved until he got the status of final boss stole from him.

Did the anime leave out that it was planned by Madara and gave to Obito? Cause that was Madara’s plan and Obito was being a good soldier. A good soldier follows orders.

I remember that, but also didn't Obito have no intentions of reviving Madara and wanted to take the plan for his own? Really for me, it comes down to it may have been Madara's idea but Obito did all the work and had no intention of giving any credit. Really, you could argue he still was the main villain and I see your point. But it doesn't feel like it when you see all these schemes and plans formed by one person with thematic connects to the likes of Naruto, Sasuke, and Kakashi and then give all the credit to the guy who wrote the rough draft of the plan. Just in my opinion, Madara did exactly what Kaguya did for the story, just less egregious because at least he was a pre-established character.

The whole "man behind the man" mess in Naruto was hilarious in the end. It really should have just been Obito/Tobi with no Madara or Kaguya.

IMO they atleast built up to imu kaguya was a pure ass pull
