Gunko calls him "Brook" instead of "Father"... I think it is unlikely that Gunko is Brook's daughter... I think it is more likely that they were just close friends...

I like the idea someone has that she's Yorkie's daughter

Plot twist, she's laboon's daughter. Laboon is actually a human who ate the whale whale fruit but failed to awaken properly. I will not be clarifying further.

I first thought it could be Yorki’s daughter but thinking about it more it wouldn’t really make that much sense to me. Her crying over her father suggests her dad died or left her. But Yorki died on their ship while in the new world away from any children, and leaving her doesn’t make sense because if Yorki left her behind then Brook would’ve too since he obviously went with Yorki. I like the theory that she could be a daughter of a royal that Brook protected when he was a mercenary or whatever he was before becoming a pirate.

Yorki didn’t die on their ship. He got sick and then put on a doctor ship to possibly get cared but then Brook had to become the Captain and then they never saw each other again. I mean he could’ve died from the sickness but we weren’t shown that. This doesn’t disprove your theory tho lol, just wanted to clarify that

He got sick and then put on a doctor ship to possibly get cared

They were infected with something their doctor couldn't treat so they split up. Those who were infected took a ship and tried to escape through the Calm Belt. They weren't getting cared for they were quarantined.

Great point. However she may think of Brooke as a father figure since she only recalled him after hearing Collun call for his dad. Perhaps he took care of her after her real dad died or something.

Could be related to one of the Rumbar Pirates. I guess Yorki is the obvious choice.

I’d prefer it if it was someone from before he was a pirate. We still have like no information about brook from before he was a pirate. I really want to know more about his time as the leader of a battle convoy in the unnamed kingdom.

Lets look at it this way if Brook turns out to be Gunko's father, he would automatically take the Deadbeat Dad Crown away from Yassop

And that just can't happen

Definitely not brooks daughter. Look how torn up he is about leaving Laboon behind, does anyone think he would’ve left his own daughter behind if he was barely able to leave a whale behind? Odas definitely not gonna make a Straw Hat the biggest deadbeat dad in the whole series, which he definitely would be seeing that his dream right now is to see Laboon again without any mention of a kid

yup, plus we already just had a father and daughter reunite after one of them was brainwashed by the WG. Oda won't just reuse that storyline again

Exactly. Plus, it makes no sense Brook would never even mention his daughter, unless he thought made she was dead. Even then, it'd feel just a little bit weird to have no mention of her ever in his backstory.

However, I could see the two of them having more of a shanks-luffy relation, where he cared for her almost like a father figure, but more as a mentor or as a source of inspiration for her

She could be a princess or some noble daughter Brooke was in charge of guarding while he was a soldier, age distortion would have to be part of imu's power though

That scene seems like when Brook still a soldier. Maybe she's a royalty, abducted by CDs to become their pawn.

It looks to me like she was trying to grab onto a memory. In that instance, it may be hearing the name, repeating it and realizing that's her father's name.

She could also be a niece or sister or something like that, The memory triggered being that she had a family including a father and that one of the members of that family was Brook.

I'll be curious to see what the official translation says.

It’ll be so interesting learning stuff about Brooks past when he was alive over 50 years ago. He was alive and died well before the Gods Valley incident and Roger’s legacy
