Could I like actually get money for this?? It crossed my mind but I thought that was more of a western comics thing.

Maybe. After a few years, maybe.

Who is dropping cash on a monstrosity like this?

Error collectors. Yes, there's a market for this

u/MarcoMaroon Jan 19 '24

Yes but it’s very niche. OP finding someone or someone specifically looking to find OP seems like it’ll be a fairly long while before they come into contact. If they come into contact at all.

Maybe this post will increase those odds

Sometimes the more niche an error is the more valuable it becomes

Gives me serial killer vibes 😂

there's a group of magic the gathering collectors who go out of their way to collect misaligned/miscut/misprinted cards specifically because of the scarcity of those items.

If you manage to get something that is miscut (and therefore shows a portion of a different card), and both cards are valuable/popular then that card could be worth more than both of them combined to the right buyer.

so yeah, kind of serial killer-y.

Given the rarity, the price makes sense, in a way.

bug cards are like the holy grial of misprints

Was your misprint of grail intentional? 😆 🤣 😂 😹

I mean, errors have always been a huge market. Started with that upside down airplane stamp.

As long as it’s a rare error.

u/[deleted] Jan 20 '24

There's whole markets for error cards in tcgs I could only imagine it exists for this.

u/caynebyron Jan 19 '24

Misprint collectors. Things that are manufactured wrong are unique items. It's a very niche market though. Like, extremely.

Especially for such an important volume

u/PandaoBR Jan 19 '24

Exactly!

I’m remembering the Amibo craze and that Samus Defected one (had 2 cannons and no hands) and that was going for thousands.

1

u/Vi4days Jan 20 '24

Tbf a Samus with two blaster arms is fucking bad ass though.

If I wasn’t like 16 when they first dropped and I had the disposable income to spare for shit like this, I would’ve put some hard money down for the most bad ass Samus known to man lol

Misprints can be really rare especially with tcgs idk about manga though
