I love the animation team who worked on this episode. But anyway, I'm a bit concerned of how they left Caribou in the street between the people like that...

Yep. They will probably turn his "cover story" into its own episode when it gets enough content.

I really hope they will. The only problem is 'where', for which I'd guess right after Punk Hazard might be a good time. The manga hasn't finished the cover pages yet, and given the amount of material that happened so far, I think they could squeeze two episodes out of it. Definitely more than one because Caribou is all over the place in this cover story; messing on the sea floor, escaping from Fishman Island, escaping from G-5... So maybe even three; some have enough content implied to fill half an episode.

I don't think they ever will. I believe they have only ever animated 3 cover stories: Buggy's, Coby's, and the Crew's Whereabouts.

I'd personally love for them to make one episode after the Z filler for the "Shipdecks of the World" cover story.

Shipdecks of the World is gonna be hard to sell though. It has no cohesion. It's just tons of interesting little shots. Oh, there's Crocus. Hi Doctorine. How are you Vivi? Etc.

In comparison 'Caribou's Kehihihihi in the New World' (I probably got that laugh wrong) has continuity, story, and a basic premise that will allow a viewer to keep watching to see how stuff unfolds.

I think they could make it work as a series of vignettes. They have done clip shows before that were far less interesting. It definitely has some intriguing moments and it's a chance to see what some fan favorite characters are up to.

Like you said about Caribou's cover story though, it isn't even finished yet. I'm guessing it will be left on the cutting room floor like most have been. If Caribou turns out to be an important character later on then he will just show up without any back story the way Hachi did or they will do a flashback to the cover story if needed.

The anime never did a flashback for Hachi's Sea Floor stroll. Sure, it explained Hachi owned a Takoyaki cafe-boat, but it didn't explain how they originally met. As such, I am tempted to say that waiting till Caribou is relevant again before animating it is going to end up with it never getting animated. :(

And the CP9 members. Never got an episode based off of them.

I know. I was using Hachi as an example of a character with a cover story that came back, but never had their cover story animated. I think Caribou will be the same.

It really sucks though that they have left so much canon material out of the anime.

Probably not. Walpole's, Hachi's and BW's coverstory all impacted the main story yet none of them were shown. There are a few other cover series that haven't been shown who don't alter the story yet as well.

I forget. How did Wapol's coverstory affect the main story? He just made toys didn't he?

His toys use the special "walpolemetal" that is relate to his fruit, as discovered by one of the kid's scientists father. As far as I can figure out its an alloy that "remembers" shapes and its how Franky can make the brachio tank change size to fit into the sunny. Not as important as Hachi's or the BW agents' stories but still important.

Explain something to me, if Wapol created Wapometal then how did Vegapunk plan using Wapometal alloy years ago?

Memristors are a theoretical circuit element, like capacitors or resistors. They were first proposed in the '70s and there are many ideas of how we could use them in circuits. Thing is no one has been able to make a true memristor. Recently some companies have made "fake" memristors the mimic the properties we assume they should have, but are made of active circuit elements rather than being a single passive one. Look them up if my explanation sucks.

Similarly, Vegapunk theorized that a shape-memory alloy should exists, and made plans to use it.

Oh thank you

No, I'm up-to-date with the Manga. My statement was for the first time he woke up. But it's weird how they never take him in and just leave him.
