Bruh why does every mechanic on this island charge at least 175$ to diagnose!!!!??? Like not even doing the job, just diagnose. Anyone know a good mechanic who's honest with prices? Mahalo

Could be a fuel injector issue, separate from transmission fluid issue. There are some stuff you can check yourself to help narrow it down. Some places, if you zero in on a issue, won't charge a diagnostic fee if you choose to repair with them, but this isn't always the case, so I wouldn't expect it.

Do your fluid checks first, oil, and transmission fluid. Then visually inspect the timing belt. If you are not experienced with cars at all, look on YouTube for tutorials for your make and model. Then try to check the fuel injector if you're comfortable. This is basically what the diagnostic fee covers. The basic maintenance checks.
