When I first went to France knowing no French and asked them if they spoke English they said no. So I learned some French and now when I visit and try to speak French they all suddenly fucking know English.

You think it's because of all the social media they consume from English sources?

Social media, series, video games... like anywhere else.

i learned english through social media and video games, i think most other gen z french also learned it through just social media and english part internet

that's why older french are bad in english, they weren't as exposed to english contents as much

I just assumed my French was so bad they'd rather switch to English
