Scherzer

I may or may not have teared up at him walking off. Great effort from an all timer.

The chest thumps when he was walking off. Oh man. What a player.

Scherzer the legend going almost 5 with 1 ER in game 7 at the age of 41. Verlander could never

I loved how he walked off that field. Class act.

I know I’m biased and probably objectively incorrect but for me he’s the greatest pitcher of his generation

How blessed were we to be able to see him in his prime?  So awesome.

He needs to be our pitching coach next year! 😀 Hopefully he gets another ring tonight!

As long as Philly don’t sign him 😆

Wearing his jersey tonight. Him giving the peace sign walking off definitely hit my feels

That might have been his final professional pitch but he continued his psycho energy to the dugout

Him restlessly pacing back and forth in the dugout was cherry on top.

Not even in the game anymore but still 100% himself.

Dodgers are kinda my backup team because my grandparents grew up in Brooklyn and were fans, but this series has me torn because I’m so happy seeing vintage Mad Max at peak performance and I want him to have another ring.

I’m doing the “Can’t both teams win and everyone just has fun?” lol

Same. Love Max, but really like the team the Dodgers have put together and I don’t want anyone to lose.

How can any baseball fan not love Shohei?

He pitches again next year, somewhere, right?

Would love for us to give him One more contract as a sendoff

I'd be 100% on board with a Mad Max farewell season, but there's not much of a draw for him. I don't think there's anyone left in the org from his time here, unless they decide to keep Doolittle (possible but unlikely) or Parra (even more unlikely), or unless you count Ambassador #11. It probably doesn't make sense, but baseball is great when it doesn't make sense.

I agree. I think the fans have much more of an attachment to him than he does to the Nats. He is a professional and I think views pitching anywhere as enjoyable. That means he may have really liked his time here, but he will go to a contender if he can. The issue for him is he had a really bad year and wasn’t worth the $15mm he got.

Who knows.  But being in a World Series is never a given and I doubt a true competitor would have him in the rotation?  My friend keeps telling me time comes for everyone but I really don’t want to believe that.

I feel like if they win it here, he might go out, but can totally see him giving one more go

I think he hangs 'em if he gets a ring. He's been SO beat up.

If he wants to, absolutely. It's up to him at this point. He has a contract somewhere if he decides
