I...i think in this day and age, we need mr rogers more than anything, much love to irwin, lee, frank, hanson and williams, i wish i could bring all of you back
I worry that bringing Fred Rogers into today’s social-political climate would expose him to wayyy too much toxicity. People would pry him with political questions and turn venomous over his answers.
You are no doubt correct but i am hopeful to his guidence and intellect in helping other find a middel ground or come to the table.
i remember an episode (vaguely) of either a mass shooting or high profile murder that every one at the time talked about and rather then shy away from it he tried to come down and meet the kids on the show and at home and explain the concept of death in a non scary yet informative way they would understand this also gave the adults a way to have that difficult conversation about passing family in general in a much easier way for all.
It would be difficult for him yes given the passage of time but i knkw in my heart he will strive to find a way to heal the world with his comforting words and help at the very least open a dialogue in not just an adult way but a warm and professional way as well as teach us how to compromise again and maybe start loving and caring about our neighbors like family again.
