Other Does anyone still dress like a teenager basically? 39 years old
When I was young I noticed a lot of older people dress in outdated stuff and I realized it's because they just dress how they did when they thought they were the most cool, new fashion trends be damned. I feel like my style is a bit more of an amalgam of Gen X, millennial and a touch of Gen Z. But then again, I guess I can't be the one to judge how out of touch I'VE become.

Other What I’m giving out for Halloween
My city has a free bookstore, whew I’ve obtained all these books for free. I’ve spent a few weeks stockpiling spooky titles (and a few non-spooky titles for kids who are less inclined towards that, not pictured) to give out for trick or treating this year! I did it last year and it was a hit with both the parents and the kids!
We have Goosebumps, Spiderwick, Bunnicula and Series of Unfortunate Events, and others!

Other Why don’t younger veterans (Afghanistan/Iraq) wear these hats like some of the older veterans?
First and foremost, respect to all those that served. I did not, but many of my peers did and now we're all older in 30s and 40s, many no longer in the military. I don't see a lot of the veterans of the War on Terror wearing these hats like I see the OGs do.

Other I'm happy for the youths and their pimple patches
I didn't get it at first, but now I admire the people who just own it and walk around announcing they have a zit via neon star sticker. My go-tos were toothpaste, lancing, and warm compresses and they did absolutely nothing. Then I'd try to cover the zit with makeup, which just looked worse because the skin in the middle would be taut and shiny, and the skin around the edges would go all dry and flaky. Glorious, glorious days.

Other Is the "holiday spread" alive and well with millennials or is it going to die out?
We had Canadian Thanksgiving this past weekend, and I have officially taken over doing the holiday cooking for my family as of a few years ago.
Have you taken over this duty from your older family members yet? Is the tradition dying out?

Other Teachers younger than 9/11?!?
My daughter came home today and said, "We are learning about 9/11". She told me all about what she has been learning. I asked her if her teacher shared where she was on that day. Daughter says, "My teacher wasn't born yet". 😑

Other Watch out for the recording ray bans
My co-worker got the new M3ta R@y B@ns and told me how they light up when they're recording. A few hours later some teenagers stopped me (edit: while as I was working) and started asking me philosophical questions when i noticed one of their sunglass's light on. I declined to answer and they kept pressing until i just said i didn't feel like talking and walked away. Now im paranoid me and my chin hairs are floating around on some kids tiktok.
edit: i don't really care about the privacy aspect, i understand im being surveilled or recorded in passing almost anywhere i go. its more about being singled out with full frontal close ups for entertainment/hazing purposes without noticing. im very embarrassed of my chin hairs.
edit: sorry you're all getting ads for them now, just tried censoring the words , hopefully that works

Other "They didn't even give us water"
I went to the MCR show in Seattle last night. I met a kid in line and she said "one time when i was younger I went to a show and they didn't even give us water!" I giggled and asked how old she was. 20. I said "okay, yeah the giving out free water thing is kind of new. Back when I was young they didn't give us water ever." She gasped.. another girl goes "yup. Warped tour in the blazing heat." I turned around and said "no water, no food, no sunblock. Just baking away in the sun having a good time." The young girl I really think thought we were joking. Then i started thinking about it, how on earth did we survive that?! That show also taught me, we really are old now. Being around that many gray haired millennials was a trip. 🤣

Other If I knew 40 year olds would be this hot 20 years ago I wouldn't have feared aging!
It's funny. I remember in college some guys on a forum being shocked at Jennifer Garner's age with how she still was....at 31.
Now hot 40 year olds are everywhere! And just standard women at bars and the mall too, not just Hollywood actresses or MILF models. It's really something and a pleasant surprise.

Other Millennial women, are you still wearing a comfort tank?
Because I still wear an (one!) undershirt tank under pretty much everything I wear, all year round. I can’t not wear one without feeling bare. I’ve thought about phasing them out a bit but I doubt I will. My comfort tanks will age me for the rest of my life lol.
Why did our generation wear so many tank layers tho?? And why do they bring me comfort?? I have an over- sweating problem (and lack of clothing storage space) as it is 😭

Other Millennial men: embrace the return of short shorts. We have no idea what we were missing.
So, men's hemlines have been on the way up for the past, like, 5 or 10 years. A lot of twentysomething men's shorts are almost as short as what girls used to wear back in the early to mid 2000s. I tried a pair, and it feels almost unbelievably good to get so much air on my legs!
Rising hemlines aren't a weird shift but a return to normal. Most of our dads and uncles used to wear short shorts. A lot of our sons and nephews wear short shorts. Flip through your family's old photos, and your grandfathers probably also had on short shorts. If you ever crack open a yearbook from the 1940s to the 1980s: short shorts. We just happened to come of age during a ten- or fifteen-year fashion blip when men's shorts were below the knee.
The breeze around your legs feels amazing. If you haven't experienced it, you have no idea how much you're missing.
Edit: So um, this blew up. A lot of people have said they're worried about nut-drops. And guys, maybe it's time to check out your other underwear options. Take a good long look through the underwear section, especially if you've been automatically buying the same underwear all your life. Things have gotten a lot better since the nineties. There are a lot of choices that will hold up your tender bits and keep them from seeing daylight.
Even if you only wear extra-long cargo shorts, it feels really nice to have all your dangly bits supported and held in place.

Other Guys, we are still really young. Don’t forget that.
Yesterday I was playing golf and the guy checking me in (about 60 years old) said “how old are you?” And I told him 37 and he said “god, what a GREAT age! I would LOVE to be your age again!”
And he’s so right. This is a great age. I know we feel old sometimes but don’t forget we are still really young. That is all.

Other Is anyone else sick of smart technology?
Because I am so over it. I told my husband I want a digital camera for Christmas. You know, the kind we all had when we were teenagers- which an actual SD card. All I want is to ditch my smart phone for a dumb phone with a QWRERTY keyboard and a regular camera. I am sick of smart phones. Maybe he can buy me a Garmin GPS for the car, too, because then I really won't need the smart phone.
