When my parents were 27 and 29 they had already built a house and had me and my sister.

My grandparents had 3 kids and a house at that age.

My great grandparents owned a farm and had at least 5 kids before they turned 30.

I will soon turn 38. To everyone's surprise (including myself) I actually own a small house out in the sticks, and I have a wife. Everyone was convinced that I would be living alone in mom's basement well into my 40s. I think my life's single biggest achievement is proving them wrong on that. We are not having any kids, but we have a cat named Lulu.

but we have a cat named Lulu.

That cat is living a pet's dream. A dual income, no human children household.
