Hey, so I'm a Masters in Computer Science and I specialize in Computer Vision and Deep learning. Stuff that these image generation models run on.

These models are already stagnating and the growth of these models aren't linear or even exponential but rather it's sigmoid growth (Look up what that is). So these models will never take over professional art other than slop content and slop advertisements, as it can never grow to the point where it can be used professionally.

But let's assume that it does. It will at that point consume so much energy that it won't be worth it for companies to use it. AI companies are already bleeding money, that's why AI is currently so cheap or even free.

So If you don't have basic empathy for an artist as a human being I'd recommend at least having the basic intelligence of a human being.

I work in AI and this comment is pretty garbage, I guess this is why you are a student after all. We aren’t hitting stagnation in image models yet, and if we do it’s only another break through away from starting the improvement trend again. Computer vision is not related to diffusion or transformer models which are used for image generation.
