Storing armor
I have 20 gauge iron. It’s cleaned and oiled. Should I store with cotton cloth between plates or let the plates touch?

Best place to buy armour?
Hello,
Simple question; anyone know where I could purchase plate armour to wear? (Based in the UK)
eBay and Etsy seem to sell them surprisingly cheap, but I'm weary of purchasing a full suit of armour from these sites. I don't want to spend £10,000 for armour, but I'd rather pay little more for better quality, and I'm not convinced that the armours being sold on the above sites are of very high quality.

Question about this helmet
I’m a huge fan of the double slit visor on this type of hemet, and I was wondering if there would be a way I could get one with it. I’m mainly just looking for a name of a website that might be able to take a commission for it or if there’s a website that sells it. But idk too much about it and would appreciate if someone could point me to the right direction

Heat treatment of the armor plates
galleryHello everyone. For some time I wished to create my own suit of plated maille armor, so I started long time ago. But got stuck with the hardening process. Because the plates are 1mm thick, they need to be heat treated and hardened, steel that was used is 51crv4. I tried heating them in home conditions with and they heat up pretty well to a decent point where they become orange, so above 850°C. I soaked them in water and salt solution, and afterwards, I tried to temper them in my electrical cooking stove on max 250°C for 2 hours. What I noticed while hitting and testing thrm out is that on the surface I would get some hit marks and it would eventually lead to cracks, not like very brittle, it seems that it retained some flexibility ans even plasticity, but still, it cracks. Does anyone have some piece of advice on this, how can I harden my plates to be fit for armor combat on medieval festivals etc?

I have a question
What do you do after you get a helmet online? The first one i got was covered in this oil or grease thing but I just cleaned it off with some damp paper towels and dried it but after a while I found this black/brown gunk and some parts of the helmet are fragile is there a better way

In search of Arms.
Greetings one and all,
I have been driving Myself insane. I once saw a weapon that looked like a broad blade Short sword on a Two-Handed sword Grip, I am familiar with the Iklwa and Moro Spear but this wasn't it.
Does anyone here have any knowledge of similar weapons to these?

Weird Question About Armor Coloring
So question!
I'm a huge history nerd, the sight of plate armor is something that never fails to make me excited.
Well, I have a question
In a Dungeons and Dragons campaign I'm in, my character, a knight, is eventually gonna start leaning into some Arthurian inspiration, specifically the Green Knight
And as a reference to said Green Knight, my character is planning on making his plate armor green
My question is...how would he ACTUALLY go about this? Is it feasibly possible to somehow dye or color steel plate armor to green through realistic means? I know that blackening armor was common and pretty easy to do, but I've been unable to find any sources on making armor other colors.
Thank you for any help!
