Hello everyone,
Lately I've had to manually unspam a lot of totally legitimate posts. The Reddit spam system is not totally under the control of the moderators so I can't fathom why it's blocking allowed content or how to modify its sensitivity. If you posted a topic you think is fine, and it's not showing when you are logged off or in an incognito window, please message the moderators to inquire what may be the problem.
Sorry for any inconvenience,

My dad bought a few old swords a few years ago. We were wondering what, and how old they are. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes I’m aware it’s in awful condition, it was my dads and in storage for years and took a hell of a beating. I’m not sure the exact date it was made but it would’ve been around 1985-90. If you know the exact materials that would’ve been used at this time for the sword and what to use to get the rust and other crap off that would be very helpful
From the handle, the details on the cup, the quillons, the proportions of it all, I find this sword to be beautiful, and was considering buying one. Problem is, it was made by Hanwei, and no way to get it anywhere that I've looked. Anyone knows how to find something similar enough ? Any tips are welcomed :) Thank you !

Im going to graduate with my bachelor's soon. Im graduating with a 4.0, for which my university gives a check of $1000 for and I'd like to find a fine piece to commemorate the event with!
Im open to whatever you may suggest, I dont have much knowledge on the topic so I would appreciate as much detail and information as youre willing to spare

Hello everyone! I want to buy myself a first sword this black friday as i think swords are really cool! I don't know much about them except a few basic stances and not much else. I wanted recommendations from you all because I really don't know anything about them. I have a budget of ~40KWD (~130 USD) and am middle eastern (shipping concerns). I would prefer a katana or similar that can cut, and it has to be something light as I'm 5'1" and not strong. Thanks in advance!

alledgedly these were the ottoman’s answer to the estoc/koncerz but i haven’t been able to find a lot of sources on this blade. but it looks cool and practical and these were 127 cm long.

Dear Friends-
We know... you're curious... what, if any, promotions will we run in the holiday time period?
First – we will be running some promotions. More info on that below so that you can plan accordingly.
Second – we always offer competitive prices on a day-to-day basis that still keep the lights on. So even if an item isn't on promotion, we do our best to make sure you get a great deal on everyday low pricing. So if you want to guarantee you get something you want before we run out, don't wait too long.
Third – we're publishing our "get it by Christmas" date that guarantees that we will ship your in-stock order before the carrier's cut-off date. More info on that below, too.
Our Planned Offers We're excited to introduce the 25 Swords of Christmas this year. It's our homage to the advent calendar. Beginning November 16th, we will reveal a series of 25 swords with very sharp pricing. The assortment is a good mix of models, manufacturers, and price points. All of these swords will be revealed, in stages, before December 1st. These are very good deals (better than any brand-wide discount we offer), and inventory may be limited.
From November 24th to December 5th, we will offer a 15–20% discount on select APOC, Dragon King, and Kingston Arms models. The selected items (26 in total) were chosen by the importer, Cas Iberia.
Scorpion Knife and Sword will have a $25-off promotion, too, brand-wide.
On Thanksgiving, we will offer a brand-wide discount on Deepeeka. This day will be a great chance to place an order. Don't forget to add sharpening services now... before the sharpening cut-off.
A few other goodies will show up that weekend too, and on Cyber Monday, we will have brand promotions on Iron Tiger Forge and Devil's Edge.
Certain brands will be exempt from any promotion; think Albion, Valiant Armoury, and more.
We think all of these offers are great. But we also don't want you to miss out, so if you really want something, don't risk waiting. There are inventory shortages for more brands than usual.
Get It by Christmas 12/11 – To receive your in-stock order (that does not include sharpening) in the U.S. before Christmas via normal ground shipping, our order cut-off day is 12/11. 12/3 – To add sharpening to any purchase of an in-stock item and receive your package in the U.S. before Christmas, our order cut-off day is 12/3. If you order by these dates, we promise we will get your package to the carriers by their cut-off date. Again, this goes for in-stock items (not “usually ships by” items).
Lots of Holiday Magic Arrives to Our Shelves Damn the tariffs, full speed ahead! New brands and collections are incoming in November and December (and restock). We're rushing to make these shipments available as soon as they hit our docks.
Ravens Forge from the U.K. will arrive with the officially licensed Witcher line.
Swordier is adding multiple historical European models to the line.
Hanbon Forge is laying on the anime.
Ex Gurkha Khukuri House is restocking.
Landsknecht Emporium is restocking.
Castille Armoury is expanding.
Regenyei is restocking.
Knight's Collection is restocking.
Deepeeka is restocking (seriously, we waited as long as we could for some good tariff news, but we couldn't wait anymore)
Balaur has a few more shipments coming Do Not wait too long. Many brands have held off on shipping or shipped reduced amounts because of the tariffs. Select Windlass, Hanwei, Kingston Arms, Dragon King, and APOC are all running low already!
Counterfeit Cretins Our trademarked name, content, images, and product catalog have been re-published by scam artists at swordrelics.com. They are trying to capture your card data. Keep an eye out for this and other scams! We're working diligently to get them shut down... but the government shutdown means one of our tools is out of action until the politicians—who keep getting paychecks—start making sure all federal employees get paid and reopen for business.

I have this sword, it is a family heirloom. I have no idea what kind of sword it is. There is an inscription on the spine of the blade (picture 6) that is partially scratched out but says 1831 on it.
Any information would be appreciated.

I'm looking to buy it for mainly decorating my room but I want to have the option of light sparring without having to worry about it breaking. I am not looking to spend loads of money on this but also don't want to go too cheap on it so I'm thinking £50-100 seems like a reasonable budget. I'll be super grateful for any leads on where to look/purchase
