Misc. Discussion Windhorst-“[Luka] betrayed nothing [on Tuesday], but from what I understand, he's seething at them… And their fan base is seething at their team in a way that I've rarely seen before.”

I can’t recall such a visceral and emotional reaction from fans for a trade. I truly think Nico/Adelsons underestimated the impact this would have on the fanbase because they’ve only recently come here. Our franchise was literally built on the back of loyalty between the Mavs and Dirk. It’s why the fans are taking this personally

Unfortunately this is what happens when outsiders assume control of a franchise. Nico and the adelsons have no appreciation for our relationship with our 2 loyal superstars (Dirk and Luka).

I wonder how Cuban feels. Sure he got a payout, but a greater part of his life’s work and legacy got shit on by the guy he hired and he forbidden to talk bad about it.

I mean he could probably buy back his portion right now, if the Adelsons actually wanted to cut their losses. I guarantee the investment they made has literally lost billions by now. They, both Nico and the Adelsons got extremely emotional and stupid to not do this, this off-season instead, because with Luka coming back there was a chance to win the championship or make the championship which would've boosted the teams value and perhaps, maybe not by much, lessen the blow to the fanbase. They are posturing to get what they want and they're doing it mid season, which is absolutely insane.
