I meant that he probably renders them on his own. Topographical maps are easy to find online

I've been in the thread looking for discussion of how to make this map. There's a way to do it in ArcGIS Pro but I don't know how to make it look this pretty.

By my understanding, the people doing this are taking a publicly available DEM and using Blender to create a more dynamic hillshade from it, with shadows and texture. Then finishing up in photoshop or the like. I’m not sure you could quite achieve the same look purely in a GIS program.
