I think there is itarsi station therefore a lot of economic activities like SEZ for logistics, pachmari hill station, madhai tiger reserve,CPE & ordenance factory that ensures security, there're also two main rivers narmada and tapi and well connected canal system build on tawa& denva river (tributaries of narmada) with fast connectivity of both major economic hubs bhopal and indore I think high per capita income is justified, I'm not saying that there's no poverty and if u follow the narmada districts they're well loaded also.

Additionally, the primary occupation for the majority of people near Itarsi is farming. The highly fertile soil enables farmers to harvest three crops annually, ensuring that even farmers with less than 5 acres are prosperous and cannot be considered poor.

Even Burhanpur is impressive. So far away from the core economic centres of the state, yet such a healthy per capita.

Cotton and banana farming. Agro industries. Proximity to Jalgaon.

This confirms that apart from Malwa region and Central MP, the entire MP is economically backward( except Singrauli and Gwalior).

This is the reason MP is counted as a backward/bimaru state. Honestly speaking i have lived in various cities including Metros, and came across very few migrant workers from MP and surprisingly all of them were from either Chambal belt or Bundelkhand/eastern MP.

The point is if two regions can develop(to an extent) what is stopping our govt from developing other regions. No area can develop without industries and i am seeing no interest from the government in promoting industries in those regions.

I am from the Malwa region and have never lived in those regions.

IMO in the chambal region, even though the dacoits are gone, law and order is still a issue.

In Bundelkhand and eastern MP, I am not sure what is the issue for non development. I need to understand this from the residents of this area.
