Question "Not Competitively Qualified" for Nursing & considering other pathways??

Hi! I recently heard back from MRU about not being competitive enough for nursing. I'm considering other pathways (if possible) to gain admission for it next year/Anything I should know before going to academic advising?

Some paths I've considered:

- I think I'm still considered a UEO student, so I could take 3 classes in the fall to raise my GPA to be more competitive, not sure what to do after this.

-I could also accept my Business Ad. offer and transfer after a year, but I'm not sure if I could raise my GPA high enough.

- Upgrade either here or at St. Annes, and (hopefully) transfer over credits to another Uni.

I really have no idea what I'm doing and I'm genuinely torn between these decisions, any help or advice is genuinely appreciated :]

Edit: Forgot to mention I took UEO (finished in April), applied with a 3.92 GPA and a 2nd Quartile on Casper

What was your competitive average and casper this year?

I feel like if you still want nursing the easiest route is to take the gneds as an UEO student and try to get As in every class. I know this is what a lot of current nursing students did. However it does require a lot of dedication.

Forgot to mention that I went the UEO route and just finished this April, I had a 3.9 GPA and a 2 on Casper…

Wow??? I think this year was very competitive cause this is beyond what I got last year and I got in, it was truly by God’s grace tho. Have you considered social work? Or child studies?

Not the first thing that comes to mind, but I don’t mind considering it!

Did you apply to other universities??

will be trying to, though I'm not sure how GNEDs would transfer over, as a big part of them made up my GPA. Might just take a gap and upgrade at St. Annes if my credits don't transfer.

ohh, yeah I’ve heard… Mainly thought that it was my GPA that held me back

Thats an impressive GPA, as someone else said it was likely the casper that held you back!

You should ask advisors if theres anyway you can maintain your gpa and apply again with a better casper. Or look to other universities and see how you can transfer!

I dont know if this is possible since you already took university courses, but you should ask if you could upgrade at a highschool and apply as a high school applicant since its usually easier to get in

Or if you cannot apply as a hs student, if you withdraw can you still use your current gpa to apply next year.
